Holographic recording and reconstruction in spatially incoherent white light
Abstract
Procedures for the recording and reconstruction of holograms in incoherent light are outlined with reference to both spatially and temporally incoherent light. A holographic transparency, which serves as both a beam-splitter and a condenser, is introduced onto the input plane of an incoherent imaging configuration. The interference pattern recorded on the output plane, for some cases, may serve as the hologram of information situated within any pupil plane. This concept is applicable to coherent analysis in systems that are linear in intensity and to optical signal processing in incoherent light.
