Uniform streaming past a fixed semicircular infinite strip
Abstract
A solution is presented to the twodimensional hydrodynamic problem of the uniform stream of inviscid incompressible homogeneous fluid flowing past a fixed semicircular infinite rigid strip. This boundary value problem is formulated by the conventional Green's function approach, and its governing Fredholm integral equation of the first kind is readily obtained. This integral equation has a Hilbert kernel, which is inverted by using Lewin's (1961) formula. Finally, expressions for the physical quantities of interest are obtained.
