Analysis of nonresonant slots in a notched-wall dual-mode rectangular waveguide
Abstract
Consideration is given to the radiation characteristics of narrow nonresonant slots located close to or straddling the center line of a notched-wall dual-mode rectangular waveguide. Theoretical results, found by Bethe's small-hole diffraction theory, are compared to those for similar slots in single-mode waveguides. It is found that the polarization of the radiated energy may be controlled by introducing a combination of longitudinal and transverse slots to the relative phase of the input signals.
