Algorithm for analyzing edge-type reflection gratings
Abstract
A mode matching technique is used for the analysis of plane wave scattering on an echelette grating. The proposed method is shown to yield approximate solutions of good accuracy for the E-type scattering problems in which the incident wave is polarized in the groove direction. When the incident wave is polarized normal to the groove (H-type problems), good accuracy can be achieved by applying a smoothing operation.
