Measuring equipment for an experimental optical fiber transmission system
Abstract
The paper surveys measurement equipment developed for optical fiber transmission systems. Particular attention is given to: (1) fiber transmission equipment, (2) splice- and connector-monitoring meters, (3) devices for evaluating spectral loss, (4) a measurement method using sinusoidal waves for examining material dispersion, and (5) an optical power meter.
