Highpass and bandpass filters using a new single-amplifier simulated inductor
Abstract
A single-amplifier, single-capacitor simulated-inductor circuit has been adopted for use in active RC highpass and bandpass filters. The nonideal behavior of the simulated inductor is compensated for by modifying the filter circuit in which the inductor is employed; the compensation is complete for highpass filters in the frequency range where amplifier gain is describable by a single-pole model. The simulated inductor design is applied to the development of a fifth-order Cauer-type highpass filter.
