Steady-state-action magnetoplasmadynamic source
Abstract
The paper describes a magnetoplasmadynamic generator with magnetic arc; the generator operates at powers ranging up to 400 kW. Experimental results are presented on the electrical and thermal properties of the generator. Volt-ampere characteristics as well as mean-mass enthalpy are studied as a function of power supplied to the arc, magnetic flux density in the discharge region, and working gas flow rate.
