Performance of phase comparison sinusoidal frequency shift keying
Abstract
The bit error performance of phase comparison sinusoidal frequency shift keying (PCSFSK) in the presence of white Gaussian noise is discussed. In a comparison of the performance of PCSFSK with DQPSK, it is found that PCSFSK performs slightly better than an upper bound on the performance of DQPSK at high signal-to-noise ratios, and somewhat worse at low signal-to-noise ratios. Attention is given to a description of the received PCSFSK signal, the receiver structure, the PCSFSK decision space for two formats, and a graph showing the white noise performance of PCSFSK compared to optimum reception of QPSK and DQPSK.
