Technical aspects of the Japanese Broadcasting Satellite experiments
Abstract
A system description is presented of the Broadcasting Satellite for Experimental Purpose (BSEP) mission, with attention given to the spacecraft configuration, the main transmit and receive station, the receive-only stations, the simple receive equipment, and the ground terminal network. The various BSEP experiments are described, including advanced TV broadcasting, radio wave propagation, frequency sharing, and signal reception. Some preliminary performance results are presented.
