Slow leaky waves
Abstract
The slow leaky wave observed during the study of a parallel plate with a thin, perfectly conducting plate is described. The wave's phase velocity in the longitudinal direction is less than the velocity of light. Sets of parameters (such as maximum radiation direction, skin depth, and propagation constant in the longitudinal direction) for which the waves are obtained are given. The radiation patterns of slow leaky waves are discussed in contrast to other slow (surface) waves.
