Fragmentation of nuclei in extensive air showers
Abstract
A method of probabilistic equations is used to examine the effect of fragmentation on the nucleon component of extensive air showers. The method can be used to calculate the distribution of the number of particles beginning with a primary nucleus of arbitrary atomic number. As an example, the distribution of the number of nucleons beginning with a primary helium nucleus and a group L nucleus is calculated
