Rockets composed of modular units
Abstract
A rocket development project undertaken by a private company that has leased approximately 100,000 sq km in Zaire is described. The rockets, designed to launch satellites into orbit, are, for a large part, formed of modular fuel tank units; modular construction is use in order to produce a 'cheap' rocket. The rockets (six sizes are planned) will use nitric acid as the oxidant and diesel oil as the fuel. The economics of cost and investment are discussed with attention to the progress of the development.
