Thermodynamic evaluation of equalizing processes in flow channels
Abstract
The paper gives a method for evaluating the extent and development of nonuniformities in flows and the effectiveness of various equalizing processes in the flow. Three basic types of equalizing processes are considered: (1) equalization with conservation of entropy (reversible equalizing process without consideration of conservation of rest enthalpy and momentum of mass flow), (2) equalization with conservation of rest enthalpy of mass flow (irreversible equalization without consideration of momentum), and (3) equalization with conservation of the absolute value of momentum of the mass flow (irreversible without consideration of conservation of rest enthalpy). The coercion to uniformity is defined.
