Transient and frequency responses of systems with time delays
Abstract
For systems containing time delays, root locus methods can locate any Laplace transform closed-loop poles. L'Hopital's rule is shown to give exact residue values for any of the infinity of closed-loop poles. The transient or frequency response can then be estimated from dominant poles and their residues.
