Diffraction of the field of a transverse magnetic dipole on a sphere with a circular hole
Abstract
A rigorous solution for the vector problem of the field diffraction of a transverse magnetic dipole lying on the symmetry axis of a perfectly conducting sphere with a circular hole is obtained by semi-inversion method. It is shown that the algebraic systems of second-kind equations may be solved numerically by the reduction method and analytically by the method of successive approximations. Comparison of analytical expressions of radiation resistance with small holes in the sphere for transverse and axisymmetric dipoles evidences that in case of the transverse dipole the connection with a hole is stronger.
