The evolution of solitons of the modified Korteweg-de Vries equation under the action of perturbations
Abstract
Karpman and Maslov (1977) have shown that under the action of a continuously acting perturbation, a soliton impulse will deform, and that the deformation process is accompanied by the formation of wave 'tail'. In the present paper, a solution is obtained which describes the effect of perturbation on a modified Korteweg-de Vries soliton.
