The EarthMoonSun Force Fuction
Abstract
The force function of the earthmoonsun system is derived as a function of the Stokes constants of these bodies and of the parameters defining the mutual positions of their ellipsoids of inertia. The basis for the solution is a special transformation of spherical harmonics. The general solution is specified for the special case where harmonics are retained up to fourth order in the gravitational field of the earth and moon and the second zonal harmonic in the gravitational field of the sun.
