sprocess studies: the exact solution.
Abstract
The exact solution is calculated for the unbranched sprocess nucleosynthesis network with constant nondegenerate crosssection values; the solution applies throughout the range of neutron exposures of astrophysical interest. The exact solution provides correction factors for the approximate solution of Clayton, Fowler, Hull and Zimmerman (1961). However, for small values of neutron exposure, a power series expansion renders evaluation of the exact solution rather easy and thus eliminates the need for the approximations. Computational requirements for the exact solution are discussed.
