Three luminous carbon stars in the Large Magellanic Cloud.
Abstract
The properties of three very luminous carbon stars in the Large Magellanic Cloud are discussed. Two of the three are rather blue, with (R-I) values of about 0.88, and exhibit significant amounts of C-13 in their spectra. The third is the first carbon Mira to be found in the LMC.
