On the linear acoustic resistance of an orifice in an infinite thin plate
Abstract
The described theory for the linear acoustic resistance of an orifice in an infinitely thin plate is applied to obtain an approximation formula for the case of either or both high frequency and large orifice. The theory also provides a limit value for lowfrequency smallorifice conditions. The theoretical values are found to be in accord with experimental data. An approximation formula applicable to the entire frequency range is presented.
