The saturation characteristics of electric discharge convection CO2 laser
Abstract
An analytical expression for the saturation intensity is obtained by application of a microscopic molecular model. The saturation intensity and the small signal gain are calculated at all points in the active region for a variety of conditions, and the effects of changes in the pressure, flow velocity, gas composition, and discharge power on the saturation density and the small signal gain are discussed. Good agreement is found between calculated and experimental values.
