Typeindependent solution for mixed compressible flows
Abstract
Recent algorithm research on inviscid transonic flows is summarized. A parabolic potential equation is considered which consists of the usual inviscid equation plus a small highorder streamwise diffusion term. Relaxation schemes devised for Sichel's (1968) viscous transonic equation do not require mixed differencing, shockpoint or sonic line operators. In particular, convergence appears to be independent of sweep direction.
