uvbybeta photometry of wide visual double stars with B, A and F spectraltype - I.
Abstract
We give the observed visual magnitudes and the observed colour indices b-y, m1, C1 and for the members of 125 double or multiple systems. We also give a spectral type for these components estimated from the photometry. We study the deviations of distance modulus for the components of each double star in order to obtain the calibrations of magnitudes which give the best internal agreement for B, A and F-type stars. This agreement occurs for the following four calibrations: 1)Fernie (1965) for B-type stars, 2)Str5mgren (1966) for A type stars, 3)Breger, (1974) for stars with f=8 and p >2.72, 4)Crawford (1975b) for F-type stars. For these, the internal agreement of distance modulus of 39 physical double stars is -0.05+0.29. Key words: uvby photoelectric photometry - spectral classifications - absolute magnitudes - binaries
