Observations of Saturn with the Paris astrolabe (1975 - 1976).
Abstract
This paper contains the results for the fifth campaign at the Paris Observatory. Results of the former campaigns (1971-72, Chollet et al. 1973; 1972-73, Debarbat et al. l975a; 1973-74, Debarbat et al. l975b; 197475, Debarbat et al. 1976) have been published previously. During the winter 1975-76, 33 East and West transits were observed. Four observations had residuals larger than three times the mean quadratic errors, they have been omitted; the table gives the usual data for the 29 remaining transits. This campaign is the last one of a series of five performed at the Paris astrolabe, related to the latitude of the station and the declination of Saturn. For that reason it has been possible to study the accuracy of observations of this planet (Debarbat 1978). Key words: Astrolabe - Saturne
