On the chemical composition and age of beta Vir.
Abstract
The F8V star Beta Vir is reanalyzed by means of a differential model atmosphere analysis. Taking into account the revision of Holweger's solar model and improved solar equivalent widths as measured from the Liege atlas, the final atmospheric parameters are given. A solar He/H ratio has been assumed. Evolutionary isochrones suggest a stellar age of approximately 3 billion years, in contrast to earlier investigations.
