A multistatic track filter with optimal measurement selection
Abstract
A filtering theory is presented for tracking in a multistatic radar system. The concept is a quasi-linearized Kalman filter using an optimal measurement algorithm. It is noted that the filter is equipped to handle data from receivers, transceivers, and other devices. For a particular case, the filter selects a subset of measurements yielding the minimum measurement error volume. Thus, the track filter allows the optimal tracking of a ballistic object in a wide variety of environments.
