Manufacturing Methods and Technology (MM and T) measure for fabrication of silicon transcalent thyristor
Abstract
This First Quarterly Report describes the MM and TE program for Transcalent (heat-Pipe cooled) thyristors. A description of the device and the pertinent state-of-the-art at the inception of the program is included. Progress on redesigning for production is described for the device parts, processes and sub-assemblies. Also described are the problems encountered in the design of the high current, high voltage test equipment. Block diagrams of the circuit designs are included. The present status includes the completion of the fixtures and the process specifications, the procurement of device parts, and the initiation of sub-assembly work as well as the procurement of the electronic components for the modification of fabrication of the electrical test equipment. Plans for the next quarter include completion of the engineering sample devices.
