Langmuir solitons and ion-sound
Abstract
The one-dimensional case of Langmuir solitons is analyzed. Allowed processes are identified. It is stated that all approaches which take nonlinear terms in one mode and produce soliton solutions are open to the objection that they ignore mode-mode interactions which should become important at high amplitudes.
