Observations of meteors and studies of cosmic dust
Abstract
The paper presents a review of current methods for studying the solid components of the interplanetary, near-earth, and upper atmospheric regions with particular consideration of meteors and cosmic dust. The methods are evaluated in terms of their specific applications and the difficulties they present. A study program is outlined with reference to the primary areas of interest and techniques for gathering data via equipment aboard Salyut-4. Visual observations made by the Salyut-4 crew of meteors and zodiacal light are briefly reviewed.
