The servomechanism for the counter-rotating antenna system of the Sirio SHF experiment
Abstract
The control electronics of the despin mechanism for the counter-rotating antenna of the Sirio communications satellite are described; the minimum pointing precision required for the antenna during satellite spin velocities of about 90 rpm is plus or minus 0.5 deg. Computer simulations of the despin mechanism are described. Calculations of pointing error, jitter, and current necessary to maintain the required pointing precision of the antenna are considered.
