Design and fabrication of sub-millimeter wave mixer diodes
Abstract
The demand for receivers capable of operating at high frequencies and/or with greater sensitivity has sharply increased since their application has been extended to atmospheric studies. In the present paper, improved diode designs for high frequency operation are examined, with particular reference to a submillimeter wave resistive mixer Schottky diode. Fabrication techniques and design parameters are related to device and material physical properties, and fabrication techniques are compared and evaluated on the basis of experimental results.
