Molten salt energy storage system - A feasibility study
Abstract
A molten-salt energy-storage system for central power plant use in meeting system load demand fluctuations has been studied. A conceptual design of the energy-storage system is presented. Included are basic system design, thermodynamic cycles, results of pertinent heat transfer studies, overall performance estimates, and economic considerations. The results, from both technical and economic viewpoints, are encouraging.
