RCA Americom's domestic satellites pay off
Abstract
Major services which are currently offered by the domestic communications satellite system include a provision of private lease channels, video services, private switched systems, and full transponder leasing. The low cost of satellite transmission makes possible regional and nationwide distribution of a wide variety of nonprofit, educational, and religious broadcasts. Attention is given to television transmission, Viking pictures of Mars transmitted by satellite, and services which have been proposed for the future.
