Amplification mode of a CW chemical HF laser of diffusion type with laminar mixing of the reactants
Abstract
Theoretical study of the energy characteristics of a CW HF amplifier of the diffusion type is carried out. The case of a cold pumping reaction with no chain mechanism of excitation is considered. The model for diffusion mixing is based on averaged parameters. The amplifier equations are obtained in a quasi-one-dimensional approximation. Calculations are performed for a (F2 + D2 + He) + H2 mixture. The calculations show that the amplifying version of the HF diffusion laser is quite suitable in high-power continuous systems, having an efficiency only slightly less than that of an oscillator.
