Measuring stripping cross sections of hydrogen atoms on helium and nitrogen in the energy range 0.3-3 keV
Abstract
Cross sections of stripping of hydrogen atoms on helium and nitrogen in the little studied region of relatively low energies (0.3-3 keV) were measured by a technique based on using a pulsed gas target and a guiding magnetic field. The method enables simple and reliable determination of the effective target thickness. All ions formed during stripping can be collected.
