Investigation of the properties of ring resonators with coupling of opposite directions through back-reflection
Abstract
The paper examines a ring-laser resonator in which the coupling of opposite directions is realized through a reflector (semitransparent mirror, glass wedge, plane-parallel plates or interferometer with variable base) placed in it. A boundary condition method in the plane wave approximation is used to study the Q, and the frequency and phase characteristics of the resonator oscillations. It is found that the longitudinal mode of the resonator is divided into two types of oscillations with different frequencies and Qs.
