Influence of pressure gradients on Stanton-tube readings
Abstract
Expressions are derived which approximate the velocity changes in a turbulent incompressible wall boundary layer. The relations are used to evaluate the influence of a pressure gradient on the readings of a Stanton tube. It is assumed that the readings depend completely on the mean dynamic head (which they are supposed to measure in the absence of such perturbing factors as viscosity, the wall, etc.) and on the wall shear stress.
