Comparison of noise behavior of different realizations of an engineering band-pass filter
Abstract
Five different realizations of a sixth-degree band-pass filter with center frequency of 1 kHz are analyzed with respect to their noise behavior. The realizations occur as active RC-circuits with operational amplifiers, and are realization with hypercapacitances, realization with impedance inverter, realization as an integrator cascade, realization as a band-pass transformed integrator low-pass filter, and realization as a state filter. Filters realized by converter circuits showed a relatively small absolute output noise voltage. The state filter and the integrator cascade had favorable ratios of effective output noise voltage to signal output voltage.
