Method for solving the Tricomi problem for a Chaplygin type equation in an unbounded region
Abstract
A method is proposed for solving the Tricomi boundary value problem for a mixed equation in transonic gas dynamics. The equation is examined in the region whose elliptic part is a half plane, while the hyperbolic part is a characteristic triangle. The solution is obtained in the form of an expansion with respect to the local solutions of the initial equation, the coefficients of which are determined from infinite systems of algebraic equations.
