An analogy between a fluid dynamics problem and a plasma mechanics problem
Abstract
An analogy between the wave equation for an incompressible non-viscous magneto-fluid-dynamic plasma of finite electrical conductivity and the linear Stokes equation for an incompressible viscous fluid is discussed. The analogy permits the transfer of previously established hydrodynamic solutions of the Stokes equation to certain plasma mechanics problems.
