One-dimensional theory of capillary discharge with vaporizing walls
Abstract
Consideration is given to a one-dimensional theory of capillary discharge with vaporizing walls which is based in gasdynamic equations. By evaluation of simple processes in the plasma, the pressure and temperature dependencies of the density, enthalpy, radiation path length, and resistivity are calculated. The technique yields formulas for plasma temperature and pressure at the midpoint and at the end of the capillary for specified capillary dimensions and discharge current strength.
