Generalized zonal method of studying and calculating radiative heat transfer in absorbing and scattering media
Abstract
The author continues the development of his generalized zonal method of the theory of radiative heat transfer (Surinov, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1971, and 1972), and gives an analytical method enabling one to perform numerical investigations of the local (boundary and internal) and averaged (within the boundary and volume zones) characteristics of radiation in radiating systems consisting of diffusely radiating and reflecting grey boundaries separated by an absorbing and isotropically scattering medium. The method is based on finite systems of linear algebraic equations, obtained by successive approximations, which approximate the systems of integral equations for the fundamental solving characteristics of the radiation. Two variants of the method are presented, differing in the initial system of integral equations used.
