Recent developments in hydraulic research
Abstract
An attempt is made to summarize some recent developments in hydraulic research, mainly last decade developments, against the background of research carried out in the Delft Hydraulics Laboratory. A number of examples are given illustrating developments in various fields of hydraulic engineering research, such as wave studies, harbour studies, navigation studies, coastal problems, tidal models, local scour and bottom protection, mathematical models for open channel flow and sewage systems, river models, locks situated between salt and fresh water areas, etc.
