Determination of echo-signal tolerances in transmission channels on full SEKAM signals
Abstract
The quality of a color picture essentially depends on the extent of distortion of the signal in the television channel. Information about the color picture along different parts of the channel is given by various signals. The full color television signal, by being affected by these signals, undergoes complex multiple transformations in the multichain electrical channel. It is, therefore, important to establish limits for the distortion of this signal in the form of a stencil for impulse or transient characteristics corresponding to different sections of the channel. The method of echo-signals is used for construction of these stencils. The experiments described in this paper were planned to study the occurrence of reflected signals in the channel during the transmission of the full SEKAM signal in color television and to establish the connection between the quality of the picture and distortions of this kind.
