Matching of a piezoelectric transducer to a gravitational wave antenna
Abstract
The optimum design of a gravitational wave experiment requires a proper matching of the various subsystems in order to obtain the best sensitivity when the main characteristics of the antenna, such as its size, are predetermined by a priori technical constraints. Two algorithms of data analysis were considered, Gibbons-Hawking and Wiener, their implications are discussed on the matching at the level of the transducer. The solution of the matching problem provides the optimum arrangement of the ceramics and of the transistors in the preamplifier.
