Physical vulnerability of aircraft due to fluid dynamic effects
Abstract
The problem of predicting the structural response to external blast was summarized. Important details of a spherical charge in free air as it interacts with rigid surfaces were studied. The use of impulse momentum for calculating structural response and the approximation of a uniformly distributed impulse on the surface in question are approximations and are experimentally justified.
