Radar signal optical processor
Abstract
A real-time coherent optical range/Doppler processor, consisting of a pulse compressor based on an acoustooptic matched filter correlator followed by a two-dimensional range/Doppler processor utilizing a liquid crystal light wave is described. The principle aim of the paper is to demonstrate the feasibility of using coherent optics in the production of high time bandwidth product ambiguity functions with present day components. Some simulated results are examined.
