Sequences of random multidimensional signals and methods for discriminating between them
Abstract
In an examination of the problem of the radar discrimination of N extended targets, the targets are characterized by nu parameters: alpha sub 1, . . . , alpha sub i, . . . , alpha sub nu, which depend on the reflective properties of target elements. This paper uses a simple particular case to illustrate the physical sense of these parameters. It is assumed that each target is divided into nu elements and discrimination is carried out with respect to the signal envelope by means of a fixed radar. In this case the value of some parameter alpha sub i is simply the value of the envelope of a signal reflected from the i-th element in the absence of noise.
