Maximum amplification band of a CRM twistron
Abstract
The paper considers a cyclotron resonance maser twistron with inputs and outputs in the form of conical waveguide sections and with a nonuniform static magnetic field linearly varying along the section axis. The efficiency, band, and gain coefficient of the twistron are determined. It is shown that at sufficiently high values of electronic efficiency and gain coefficient, the band is limited only by the scatter of electron velocities.
