Transverse slot in a planar waveguide
Abstract
A rigorous solution is obtained to the problem of the diffraction of TE-mode waves on a transverse infinitely long slot in a planar waveguide. The solution is found in the form of Fredholm equations of the second kind with respect to functions connected with Fourier amplitudes of the radiation field. A numerical analysis is conducted to study the dependence of transmission and reflection coefficients on slot width and waveguide dimensions.
